Mr. Ed
All the wei gworen (foriegners) here live and die by the Lonely Planet Travel Guide. It recommends going to the Jolly Roger Bar (see the next page) the temples (see the page before last) and riding the horses on the beach at An Ho. So we did. It was fun.
At one point, the horse trainer handed me a riding crop. I knew from past experiences that just waving the crop like a wand in the air could set off the horse. I tried it and was reminded why guys are just not built to ride a horse at full gallop. I can say now, though, that I can hit the high notes in The Star Spangled Banner just by thinking about this event. All the people on the beach wanted to have their picture taken with the hairy monster riding a horse (living in Taiwan is a constant reminder how dark leg hair and tanless Seattle skin stands out with the rest of the world). |

Some responces to recent email: To my mom and dad: Thanks for taking care of the situation in Seattle for me. That is a load off my back! To Dave and Sarah: Congrats on the condo and the scooter. Aprillia makes some GREAT bikes, but never - NEVER - badmouth Vespas. To Evan: WRITE ME YOU BASTARD. Kelly: you rock. My sister: how ARE things in North Carolina? DO tell. . . Racheal: I made a video of Attitude and found that I do not extend my front kicks completely. Viewing the opening of Waterfall, I found that on my left side, I do not relax into back stance enough. These short videos are very helpful in diagnosing my progress while away from the dojo. Pat and Pippa: The defense is playoff caliber. I don't know about the rest. Trista: you'll like Taiwan. Jason (and Greg): looking forward to the visit. I got the week off and am looking into plane tix to Hong Kong. Claudia: If you do visit during the first week of November, you can go to Hong Kong with Jason, Greg and me. Jerry Greer-Deckman: I miss you, man. Make sure we hang for at least a minute when I get back to the states. Ryan: Happy frigging birthday. Pat: Rock on. Dan: Rock on, too. Chris: Eat more Chinese. Christian: I've been dreaming in Super 8 again. Is it an affliction? | ||||
